民歌大推介 木匠樂隊 | |
Hello! I'm Timothy Cho. I've been in love with the Carpenters' music since I was studying in F.4. Although I can't exactly explain how can their music keep on touching my deepest inside for years, I bet you could find out the reason yourself when you listen to Karen's golden honey and Richard's wonderful song arrangement. Thus, this homepage is prepared for sharing my joy of their music with you! [GRIN] For the following sections, you can find a song book of The Carpenters where some of their lyrics with midi are provided. (You may simply click the moving music note for selecting your favourite song.) Besides, a list of their album released are shown. Should you want to have more information about them, some others pages about the Carpenters are linked for you to check them out. Right now, let me introduce their story briefly for you frist...... :) During 1969 to 1981, the brother and sister duo, comprising Richard, born in Oct. 15, 1946 and Karen Carpenter, born in Mar 2, 1950, made twenty trips to the Top 40 singles charts with their ultra-sweet light pop featuring Karen's wholesome, even-tempered alto voice. For the first half of the 70s, the Carpenters were one of pop's most successful acts with twelve Top Ten hits, including "Top of the World", "(They Long to Be) Close to You", "We've Only Just Begun", "Rainy Days and Mondays", "Superstar", "Hurting Each Other", "Yesterday Once More", "For All We Know" and "Sing". Unfortunately, on February 4, 1983, Karen was found unconscious at her parents' home in New Haven; she died in the hospital that morning from a cardiac arrest, which was caused by her anorexia. 木匠樂隊小歌書 永 遠 懷 念 Karen Carpenters ! |
