Dear sfu007,

We will have this concert on 16 November 2008 at Stanley Plaza. Yes, same as Simon said, we have faced with some problem with the application of venue this year. Victoria Park had formally rejected our application this year because they received one written complaint concerning noise nuisance from a resident living at Paterson Street. Therefore, we searched any venue for that and finally just confirmed to change the venue to Stanley where is also a very nice place near the seashore and some famous tourist spots.

Until today, we have already got more than 20 folk bands registered to perform at the show which include Simon Kwan, Solo Wong, Capital, Fillys, Tri's-Hi's, MAD, Ching Wan, Capo, Mercury, Vanila, YMCA (Yaumati), Felix Cheung, Young Strings, Keith & Willie, Hin+Joe, Livaboard, Band Natural, Trinity, etc...We are still waiting for the final confirmation of some other bands. We will provide all the details of the show to you all next week.

Very sorry for the late announcement and information because we really faced some problem in finding the venue and fund.

See you all on 16 November 2008 at our new performance venue Stanley Plaza.

One complaint??? Gosh!!!! Who’s that lousy guy? No man land is the most suitable dwelling for this queer I guess. Feeling being provoked, not only by that queer but also the bureaucratic LCSD. Need to do something to fight for our civil right……….. A formal complaint for ungrounded refusal of application at the least.

Thanks for your response and detailed explanation.
I understand it’s not an easy thing to held a great concert like this. BTW, I have to say sorry to all of you because I’m just an audience and do nothing. Indeed, I attended to this function for three years at Victoria Park, I have to say sincere thanks and show my appreciation to all of you (members of Organizing Committee of HKFolk and all the presenters). I know that all of you use your own time and money to held such a successful show each year, and the show is free of charge. It’s incredible but it’s real. I will go to Stanley on 26.11.08, I am sure that I can see a good show on that day. I also wish to can buy some souvenir, like T-shirt, DVD of the show, etc., actually, it may be a way to raise the fund. Of course, it’s my own suggestion only. Thanks again.
