很好的分析！ 小弟也是因為(1)拿起弟第一支結他，$50的國產鋼線結他，由一個正在學掃 chord 的小蕃茄，聽著橙色膠唱片播出的 Ventures 名曲《Apache》及《Walk Don't Run》來彈，於短時間內變為一個略懂 chord scale 及 chord progression 的小朋友。期間市面有出版的結他簡譜及六線譜當然玩過不少，其影響力是不可被否定的。 小弟可以說是由 Rock music 所啟發的，初期喜愛的音樂與多數(以全球計)的年青人一樣，是節奏強勁的 Hard Rock 及 Heavy Metal，也當過搖滾樂團的鼓手、藍調樂團的 bass 手，到後來玩 Country & Folk，所接觸過的音樂都算不少(但比起 MP3 King 還是冰山一角)。經驗告訴我，越少包裝的音樂、越簡單的樂器，越難玩得好！最終我這個搖滾小子都跑到 Folk music 這個國度來，與大家一同分享這些最能打動人的心底情感的「民歌」。只要維持不斷地接觸著多樣化的音樂領域，搖滾小子最終也會從充滿著音樂的漏斗底部，以一身 Folk 氣走出來。 隨著累積的音樂經驗及感受，對於本地的所謂「主流音樂(實不想用『音樂』來形容)」的看法，從當年的「還可以」、「不要了」、「討厭」，到現在的「o徙氣」，相信大家都明白個中道理。雖說音樂是主觀的、是個人的、是藝術的，但現今香港年青人對音樂的選擇每況愈下，已到了一個從客觀角度來看都知道的情況，慘不忍睹。他們是犧牲品，被剝削了選擇權的犧牲品，只懂抓錢的傳媒有否內咎？當年青人選擇音樂時，我們何不助一臂之力給予更多的選擇？接觸不到這個多元化的音樂世界正是人生一大憾事！ 甚麼也好，給新一代多些機會接觸主流以外的音樂，他們總有一天有所領會。

Re: 怎樣推動香港下一代的民歌運動? 其實我們一班大朋友，大家所經歷的音樂歷程可能和Allan的差不多，年青時都是經歷了不同類型的音樂，有英、中、日、勁、慢…等等，但是到頭來都是選擇簡單的Acoustic音樂。好像一些勁Rock隊伍，他們總是會有一隻家傳戶曉的Acoustic歌曲，例如Deep Purple 的Soldier of Fortune, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow 的Temple of the King, 甚至近年Extreme的More than word…. 等等，這些簡單音樂絕對𣎴會比他們的主流音樂遜色。
其實，經過大家提出了不同的意見，似孚都認同無需再執著甚麼是真正的民歌，祇要是簡單、自然、有內涵、能夠唱足幾十年也不會厭的音樂，我們都去推廣。 大家繼續講啦！這個題目的回應數可以做榜首喇！ DD_Chan |

看過了青韻那邊有關青少年民歌推廣的post，以下是我的感想。 首先，我覺得，若將標題民歌二字更換作音樂，會更有意思。何謂民歌？我不清楚，亦無意去刻意區分。為甚麼？舉例說吧，以往科技不發達，小朋友的遊戲只有捉迷藏、紅綠燈等；到科技稍有進步時，barbie、xx戰隊等公仔的出現使他們遺忘了捉迷藏；再進步些時，有了紅白機、任天堂時，barbie也要退位讓賢；到了時在就是PS2、數碼暴龍等的天下，連紅白機等也宣告沒落。這意味著甚麼？捉迷藏的帶來樂趣會比PS2的少嗎？未必。那麼捉迷藏被遺忘的原因，就是時間、潮流和人們的口味的改變，而不是遊戲的本身。 將民歌代入之，民歌就是Barbie，粵曲就是捉迷藏，譚校長張國榮就是紅白機，而twins、boyz’ 等就是PS2。(如排序有錯，請多多見諒!)愛玩捉迷藏的，可能會說紅白機吵耳；愛玩PS2的會說玩barbie out dated。這也就是說，twins，boys，等人，在多年後，亦會成為那時的民歌宗師！ (這里指的，並不是真正的民歌，只是將之代入現代民歌的地位而已，這亦是為什麼我說無意去區分甚麼是民歌的原因。) 在不久的將來，當PS 3, 4 or XP出現時，玩PS2的，自已也就成了被說是”Out Dated”的一群。在這時間的巨輪中，與其說要推動紅白機的復興，不如關心一下這個愈見式微的”遊戲界”吧。 小弟愚愚愚見，請各位批評指正！

十分同意DD_Chan的說話，其實發覺到簡單就是美的道理，而歌曲除了優美的旋律、歌詞及伴奏之外，還要帶出一些訊息給聽眾，才能真正感動人心！

Mel Sir 請恕在下直言, 你那段留言的邏輯推論錯得很離譜. 嘗試用樂器做例子代入推論, 鋼琴->電子琴->數碼琴 代入 紅白機->任天堂->PS2 因時間和潮流關係, 鋼琴早應該被遺忘. 再用和潮流好有關係的服裝做例子, 旗袍->迷你裙, 是否己經被遺棄呢? 問題徵結是錯在將時間巨輪認定為舊事物必然被新事物覆蓋 正確應該是時間巨輪會將事物"去蕪存菁", 將有價值的東西留下. 若果爛音樂可以取代經百載歷煉的音樂, 我等古典/民歌佬只好早死早著. 舉多一個有趣例子, 電子郵件和傳統郵件比較, 電子郵件有速度上和方便應用上, 比傳統郵件好十萬百千倍, 為現代人生活帶來便利, 那為什麼傳統郵件在現代依舊發達, 請各位深思.

這篇文字是一位中五的學生寫給我的﹔我敢說他的理論和邏輯絕對有很多改進的空間。 他這篇文字，其實我沒有回答過﹔而特意將之間接放上青韻，希望各位大哥能給這位小朋友／或更多的他們，一些寶貴意見。 我們比較年長，相信亦應該能小心感受他們的心態和感受，再想想方法，用一些誘導言語和耐心與他們溝通，這麽或多或少，在推動香港下一代的民歌運動上，在不同喜好者和兩代的關係一定更有幫助。 有煩各位了，再次謝過！ mel

在近月的討論上，我想大家已相當地表達了對民歌與各類音樂的關切、喜愛，和只要是好的音樂，大致也有一定的認同。 但是，對於真正的推廣，尤其是對新一代的年青朋友的介紹及推廣，我覺得並不是太多的對象能像Dear Sum哥, Frankie兄等的小女孩們，那般的如意和順利。 而可能在事實上，大家遇到的卻會是像 Allan 兄說的他們只是會是一些 ‘從當年的「還可以」、「不要了」、「討厭」，到現在的「o徙氣」’的一群。 因此，民歌音樂推廣往往總是會得到不少一定的抗拒。 那麽，大家有否再加細想，他們抗拒的種種因由在那裏呢？ 我裏又能否耐用真心誠意陪伴著他們一起，察看多一點他們心中的世界呢？ 我曾經有一位關懷我父親，我現在也有一個廿多歲的兒子。 我回憶年前逝去的慈父，在我年少時的當年，曾高舉明燈的他，用盡心力希望我能明白他眼中的光明﹔但舊日年少反叛的我，自問又能接受了多少呢？ 到現在，今天我兒子，在他心目中，又能接受我對生活的看法和理想有多少呢？ 在現今世界，在香港，在 Allan兄提過的傳媒、高資訊社會裏﹔從生活、教育到一切，社會很多都不過是一團糟。 我們要推廣民歌，要推廣音樂，其目的是什麽？ 是滿足自我？ 是求金錢利益？ 還是希望和年青人分享我們的夢，又或是希望陶冶他們的性情呢？ 又或以上加起來的一切呢？ 要解决以上的問題，我沒有什麼好的見意，我只好提出更多是問題﹔但我想各位前輩、有心人一定能有一些很好，很好的方法，去有効地推廣民歌、音樂的。請多多的指教！ mel Ps. 最後我非常、非常感謝青韻、Frankie（你帶來的歡笑聲有照片為証）、Michael叔叔及其多年好友 Danis (?)等上次的幫助，至令當睌一班年人、其家長們、Paul sir與我等能得到一個如此快樂的睌上。 pps. 有時間的話，大家不防看一看'讀者文摘'十一月號中文版裏那篇為'什麼兒子不愛聽我唱歌？'的那篇文章。

Re: 怎樣推動香港下一代的民歌運動?﹔而將之放上間接青韻 其實以一個中五生及祇以音樂作娛樂的一般心態來說，這份想法亦不無道理。情况就如一些前輩永遠覺得Nat King Cole, Frank Sanatra等人的歌曲才是俊永，他們下一代所喜愛的Elvis, Beatles等是背道離經，非正當人家子弟應接受的 (這文化沖擊在50/60年代曾使父母及子女產生對壘局面)。又如在Beatles, Rolling Stone等70/80年代歐西流行歌曲年代成長的人，亦會覺得現時的歌曲不是味兒。反觀，在那些年代的青年人，亦覺得長輩喜愛的音樂沒有一點勁度一樣。其實這些都是流行文化的自然現象，不存在着對與錯、好與壞的問題。有的衹是代溝或對事物見解的分歧。
Mel Sir是一個有心人，從他行文中可以發覺他對年青人的關懷。他希望眾人不要以「君臨天下」之勢去對待年青人，我相信他所說是要眾人不要用前輩的口吻；或我們的音樂才是好音樂，而年青人所接觸的是不籍一曬的東西；去與青年人溝通。而是以細心聆聽、包容及啟發來幫助他們成長。(我希望沒有曲解Mel Sir的意思！其實在其它比較年青化的音樂網頁內，我們可以感受到他們的熱誠和動力，情况是令人欣喜的。) 其實我們討論的主題本是如何推動民歌，從而帶出一連串問題，其中包括甚麽是好音樂。但我們不要忘記，我們所說的音樂，衹是樂界的一小部份，可能在一些古典音樂、爵士樂、中樂等愛好者眼中，我們所說的亦是他們不籍一曬的東西。正如部份古琴師覺得古箏為靡靡之音，部份歌劇愛好者會覺得Andrew Llyod Webber的音樂劇衹是潮流之物，不是殿堂之作。但對於一般以音樂作娛樂的人，這些已是高深之作了。那麽我們為甚麽要執着甚麽是好、甚麽是壞呢！？ 我深信大部份音樂愛好者，都是從流行音樂開始，發展出對其它音樂的興趣。那麽我們是否應以平常心去推廣我們喜歡的音樂，希望青年人能從中細味并體會出他們的路向。 |

To little me, when it comes to any kind of music at all, if one insists to make very clear-cut definitions, a lot of controversies will be involved. I may not be qualified to say anything at all as I can’t even read a note of music. I listen, try to play, and write just according to my feeling.
I very much like what Ah Dung saying that ‘the bad will disappear, The Good will remain’. That is evolution. It HAPPENS to everything. At the same time I also like Alan saying that ‘give them a CHOICE’. That is what we all have been doing. We have all been trying to play & listen with intention to keep what we like going. To mention just a few, e.g. Ah Dung is playing some genuine Chinese songs basing on his classical training. Tim is playing quite various tunes also basing on classical training. Kenneth is playing also some Chinese and some pop-folk. Keith is so good that he plays anything. Daniel is both inventive and traditional. Whitehorse writes something from his heart and plays some traditional. William is playing various, with Sam Hui songs as his basis. Frankie & Capo is playing some folk, folk rock plus some rock. PPM is playing all Peter, Paul & Mary with occasionally some Joan Baez or Bob Dylan, Pete & Iris Benzie play some of their Scottish songs plus some popular folk. Panny has no time to perform in the club but has made a great contribution by posting his share of music. I can see that Derek will also be one of us playing maybe a completely different style of music. Little me try to play some old English, Celtic and some country blues. All these songs & tunes are what we like to call them folk at our times and may be forgotten if we don’t play & work at them. We are all in the turning wheel and I sincerely hope that this wheel will turn for a long long time to come before it stops, hopefully not, of course. Regrettably, so far we do not have anybody playing some ethnic Chinese old songs & tunes which I appreciate but do not yet know in our club. Inevitably, some of us, apart from the music we play, enjoy many other types of music that we don’t play while some of us may not. The essence is that nobody here tries to force what we like to somebody else. We are all trying to influence and hope to get recognition from all around us. I personally enjoy this club mainly because of this. I perceive that when Daniel brought this particular subject up was to (a) try a way toSPEED UP the work or (b) to explore MORE WAYS to speed up or (c) to do what we are already doing MORE EFFECTIVELY. I don’t think that he meant that we are doing nothing at all. I admire that the heart and energy that Mel Sir has given to his group. Many of them are really fantastic in the technique of singing & guitar playing. Many possess the talents beyond our reach. Mel Sir must take the most credit from it. Derek is very understanding and correct But yes, I respect and think of the past and like different kinds of traditions. So I enjoy the existing unique club. Change it to music club, I’d have some other thoughts about it. Correct me if you share feelings otherwise. Rod |

Re: 怎樣推動香港下一代的民歌運動?﹔而將之放上間接青韻 Just want to share with you what I did with my students today. I played two songs to my Form 2 and Form 4 classes respectively. The songs are Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" and Raye Collin's "Love, Me". The reason why I chose these songs was that the lyrics contain a number of grammar items I have covered with my students in class.
I didn't expect my students to be too excited about the songs, but I just tried playing the songs to let them learn in a relaxing way. I gave them the lyrics, and then played the songs. The students were exceptionally attentive today. They listened to the songs carefully. Some of them even tried to sing, although most of them had never heard of the songs before. Some of them had heard of "Tears in Heaven", but not "Love, Me". When I explained the lyrics and the story to them, most of them were really interested. Before I left the classroom, I mentioned the Folk Club I have been working on, even though the songs I played are not folk songs. Although there wasn't an enthusiastic response, a few students nodded their heads, and asked me about the details of the gatherings, such as date, time, location etc. After the lessons, some students came up to the teacher's desk and told me that they would like to join. These two songs have brought around 10 new members to my Folk Club, and I'm really pleased to see that. In fact, I'm sure that there are always students who like folk songs and I can always invite new members to my club. However, I'm not too confident to make them stay, give them a sense of belonging and make them enjoy singing folk songs. But with all of your encouragement and support, I will try my best to overcome the obstacles ahead. |
