Yes, I agreed that most units did step up. However, one or two groups added extra elements to their songs but did not get any better, or even worse. For example, one unit added a kazoo solo but the effect was unsatisfactory.

The secret weapon also had a secret camera!

I went back to review the prelims. Most bands in the finals released their own secret weapons, stepped up and did better. It was a tough competition but Vanilla nailed them. Your strategy to add acappella intro and guitar solo paid off. Good work.

I think some of the competitors were actually quite good. But may be they could not perform their best at the final. One thing I was glad to see is that many bands did try to make re-arrangements for their songs. In our old days we just played bar-by-bar same as the original for all songs.

Unfortunately we were not able to take videos during the final as it was not permitted.
