Thanks very much for your wonderful arrangement
yesterday night. It was one of the great singing nights and single listening nights for all friends even I was late back home that my wife locked the bedroom door that I needed to sleep on the sofa! Ha!!!

At first, I regret that I played too much on drum which created noise to you all but I was crazy on it because long time no play la even I'm not skilful on it. I apologize!!!

Concerning your collection of 45 singles, those recalled my memory when I was young that I spent $5 for one. Maybe next time we can have a jamming of the song "Stars on 45"!!!

Anyway, thanks for your wonderful arrangement and hope that we will have a similar party at your wonderful home soon.

昨晚踎在Mel Sir家中地上翻看他的珍藏黑膠大細碟，每張唱片都鈎起了不少的回憶，Elvis, Bee Gees, Connie Francis, CCR, Sam Ho, Sam Hui……，一切一切都是用金錢也都買不回來的。如果沒有這些音樂，當年一班互不認識的年靑人，今天怎能共聚一堂，細數當年的一些事蹟、趣事…….。如今大家都無私地負起推動民歌的使命，總算是無悔今生。一起做好榜樣，用音樂和熱誠，影響身邊的人吧。

謝謝Mel Sir的熱情招待﹐使我們可以共渡一個快樂的晚上。

講起黑膠唱片﹐實在勾起了很多童年的回憶。小時候很喜歡看著唱片中間的Label在唱盤轉著﹐有33 1/3及45轉 (其實還有78轉的留聲唱片同16轉的﹐這些數字是指每分鐘唱片的轉數)﹐當時33 1/3又分10吋同12吋兩種﹐俗稱大碟或LP (Long Play Album)﹐10吋流行於50年代﹐而12吋那種就開始流行於60年代。而45轉只是7寸唱片(俗稱細碟)﹐ 每一面只有一首歌叫Single ﹐而每面兩首歌的便叫 EP (Extended Play) ﹐它們轉起來比較快﹐歌也比較快唱完。Label的設計﹐往往非常迷人﹐而我對唱片封套､封套上的資料､唱片公司Label就是從童年開始便著迷。小時還有家父的透明膠唱片﹐它們都是台灣製造的翻版唱片﹐很美麗﹐因為有好多種顏色 (藍､紅､橙等)。

而唱片公司呢﹐當時有很多﹐Mercury, ABC-Paramount, 本地的 Diamond, EMI的 Columbia, MGM, CBS, RCA, Atlantic, Warner, Dot, Motown, A&M, MCA, Capitol, Decca, 有很多很多﹐但是每間唱片公司的音樂類型也各有自己獨特的特色﹐不過這些唱片公司早在十多年前﹐已基本由6大唱片集團 (Polygram, Sony, BMG, EMI, MCA, WEA) 吞併掉﹐而時至今日﹐隨著 Sony與BMG合併﹐Seagram收購了MCA同Polygram組成Universal, EMI也曾計劃與 Warner合併但不成功﹐似乎唱片公司只剩下寥寥幾間﹐而隨著這些性格鮮明的Label消失﹐歌曲類型也少了﹐聽眾的選擇也少了。當然可能對現今年青樂迷來說﹐所有歌曲只是來自同一個download網站。

所以當跟一眾朋友﹐手拿黑膠﹐點播唱片時﹐談及當年軼事﹐實在人生一大樂事。聽音樂的樂趣﹐不是單單的聽﹐可以看﹐可以唱﹐可以玩………哈哈哈 Those Good Old Days……Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This……

Dear all,

You know, I like jokes that please don't take my writting so serious if it is ending with "Ha...!". I slept very well inside my bedroom that night.

To me, music is important, but it cannot be to compare with my family. The most important thing in my life is definitely my family. I will try my best to make my family members happy including my wife, my daughter, my mother, my brothers and sisters. I love they all!!!!

Therefore, I would like to remind all friends there not to ignore your family members as they are the only one to have the closiest relationship with you. Try to spend more time with your family la!!!

Thanks for your invitation~ hehehe Your house is awesome! It's big/clean/tidy(in some sense~ hehe)/warm. It's got everything I want there, guitars, drums, paintings, dogs..... etc. Do hope to visit your house again sooner or later and we all can sing AGAIN~ ehehehehhe. It's a pity that I don't know how to drink, if not, I can defintely enjoy the lovely wine in your house.
